Sherry Carlson is a Southern California native and a 15 year resident of Ojai, California. Having worked with a large Santa Barbara appraisal firm for several years, Sherry started Carlson Appraisal to better serve her clients and to provide a higher quality product. As a graduate of the University of California, Davis, Sherry feels that continuing education is essential to providing high quality, relevant appraisals. "The market and the appraisal field change so quickly that taking classes with the Appraisal Institute and other education providers keeps me up to date on the needs of the current market. For example, a FHA appraisal has specific inspection and reporting requirements, and REO properties have their own unique considerations. Having taken advanced classes in these fields is invaluable to providing complete and accurate opinions of value that meet the clients requirements as well as current industry standards.
